It is time to end the practice of illustrating all marijuana-related news and educational materials with the same outdated photos of a marijuana plant or leaf. 

THC is the mind-altering ingredient in marijuana that affects behavior and alters perception, mood or consciousness. The public deserves to be informed about the wide variety of products and THC potencies sold in marijuana markets. 

State laws differ on individual serving sizes of THC, total THC limits, packaging, warnings, product types ,and whether or not a THC marking or symbol is required. Further, the trend in commercialized marijuana markets is toward concentrated forms of active ingredients (cannabinoids) — in particular, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In some state markets, sales of concentrated products are rising rapidly.
